Carcar City Celebrates Annual Kabkaban Festival

Carcar City came alive with vibrant colors and cultural performances as the annual Kabkaban Festival kicked off this week. The festival, which celebrates the city’s rich heritage and shoe-making industry, attracted thousands of visitors from across Cebu and beyond.

The week-long celebration features street dancing competitions, trade fairs showcasing local products, and various cultural presentations. Local shoe manufacturers have set up booths displaying their finest craftsmanship, highlighting Carcar’s reputation as the “Shoe Capital of the South.”

Mayor Mercedita Apura expressed her gratitude to all participants and visitors, emphasizing the importance of preserving local traditions while promoting economic growth through tourism.
